Botanical Garden

The palm garden was founded in 1868 and is with approx. 29 hectars open land and 10,000 square meters in-house, including the palm house with tropical plants, one of the most popular gardens in Europe.

This superb botanical showcase was originally established thanks to the purchase of the Duke of Nassau´s excellent tropical-plant collection. A special greenhouse was built to house these plants, enabling visitors to meander through a jungle-like tropical atmosphere. Today, these widely acclaimed botanical gardens are under the care of the City of Frankfurt.
